A Snowy Start

We went to bed with rain and awoke with a bit snow.  Kali teaches at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, so we had to get up extra early because of anticipated traffic problems.  Arising before dawn gave me an opportunity to capture some of the snow just as the sun was coming up.  The forecasters are calling for temperatures in the mid-40s (about 7 Celsius) with bright sunshine all day, so this enchanted scene will be evanescent.

The snow was beautiful here, too, and it won't last. it's probably already gone. I wish I'd had more time to drive around and take photos before it disappeared.

Beautiful images, Scott. We had a few snow pellets several mornings ago, but the white stuff didn't accumulate.

Robin Andrea: For February, St. Valentine's Day turned out to be beautiful--sunny, with temperatures near 50. Of course, for the snow, it wasn't the best of days and it nearly all disappeared by the afternoon, especially if it was in the sun.

Thanks for the compliment on the dawn images, Packrat. We've been getting little snow events every second or third day for about two weeks now. They don't amount to much, but they keep the ground soggy (a good thing for groundwater storage and springtime growth) but not so good for walking.

Carolyn: The snow was short-lived here, but we're in for more tonight (Friday night) and maybe tomorrow night, so perhaps you'll have opportunities to take images over the weekend.
