Winter Weeds in Snow

On Sunday morning, February 22, 2015, the northern Piedmont received two inches of snow followed by a bit of freezing rain that left a glaze over everything outdoors.  As I walked to open the driveway gate to my preserve, some of the winter weeds slightly encased in ice struck me as having a particularly "Japanese" gestalt.  I hope you agree (and enjoy)!  The images are better enlarged.

One of the best parts of snow and ice, the beauty it creates. Lovely images.

Nice, Scott. I do see the resemblance to Japanese (or even Chinese) paintings.

Thank you, Robin Andrea and Packrat. Although the weather here in the northern Piedmont is still forecast to be below normal for a few weeks, we may be past the most bitter part of winter. In fact, the high on Tuesday is supposed to be in the mid-50s, which is ABOVE normal--something we haven't seen in weeks. We still have to get through a bit more snow, though.

They are nice. This kind of image is one of the things I really like about snow.
